BubbleMan : Powered Up
July 11th 2008 @ 11:12AM
The adorable, plucky BubbleMan redone in Powered Up style! I think the linework turned out well and his big, blue, goofy eyes. While his first draft has a more carefree look, latest revisions make this piece all kinds of serious.
NumberMan : Powered Up

This is Number Man, in all his Powered Up glory! Hope you like this little guy! He [and] #39;s one of my favorites. :)
Mirumijee Ruines
June 26th 2008 @ 12:45AM
Keeping in line with the upgraded renders of the Reaverbots, I decided to do the same with the Mirumijee. This one, while fairly simple, nicely shows the Reaverbots dark and mysterious nature rather well. The Mirumijee remind me of snakes, and...
Firushudot Ocean
June 23rd 2008 @ 04:50PM
In the same manner as the Nakel render I posted earlier today, this is a better render of the Firushudot model I did a while ago. This time, posed in a way. Again, not too much different from the previous render but I tried to get a better bac...

Not a huge update as far as content goes but it certainly took a lot of work on the back-end!
I've modified the "AJAX Gallery" functionality. Instead of having a link to toggle it on and off (by storing a cookie in the browser) I've decided to go for a more intuitive and search-engine-friendly way. Now, AJAX-style links will be displayed by default. If, for whatever reason, you don't want to use them you probably have Javascript turned off anyway and thus would see the newly added "noscript" tags. Either way, the gallery is quicker now and a lot more Google-compatible...which is always a good thing.
Second, and less importantly, is that all the artwork that used to have those placeholder descriptions ("This is just a test description...") have now been updated to just be shortened versions of full description. Why does that matter? Well, it looks better and it gives you a better idea of what the artwork is about. It's something I plan on manually writing for each piece in the future, but for now this should work fine. :)
And that's it!

As the Scrapbook slowly comes creeps closer to completion I have completed yet another page for the site. The Desktop Wallpapers section is now the single-page area to find any of wallpapers on the site.
On the previous version of the site, these wallpapers were simply classified in their own artwork folder and were clumsy to download and find. Now, they're all linked from one page and very easy to find the right size for your needs.

Also of note, any old links for wallpaper's previous location in the artwork section have been compensated for - you'll automatically be directed to the appropriate part of the Desktop Wallpapers page. :)
So what are you waiting for? Check out the Desktop Wallpapers section!

Greetings, viewers. As you may (or may not) have noticed, the Scrapbook has undergone some changes and some huge additions since the last post.
The Scrapbook Artwork section (replacing the "Arts" section on the previous version of the site) is complete with the new "tags" system for quickly finding artwork of a certain type, full AJAX functionality for easier viewing and browsing, and this nifty little thing called Highslide that creates cross-browser-compatible thumbnail expanders on images. If you're into web-design at all I seriously suggest checking the site/software - it's really nice and free (for non-commercial use, of course). All artwork links from the old site should automatically redirect here, so I'm hoping there will be very few broken links with this move/upgrade.
The Trading Card Game section (labeled as "Cards" in the menu) is the new section that will hold the gallery (and rules) for the TCGs I created. Hey, they may have failed but they still look pretty! Haha. Cards can be viewed in the same way as artwork using the fancy Highslide plugin, so simply hitting the left or right arrow keys on your keyboard make it easy to scroll through the images/cards.
Lastly, you'll notice the the Updates and Contact section of the site have been added. These are essentially clones of the Updates and Contact pages on the Portal but the Updates have been filtered to only show relevant Scrapbook content.
Expect the Scrapbook to finish within the next few months if not sooner - almost everything is up and all that's left are the bells and whistles. :)
